Arrival in Oaxaca
Arrive in Oaxaca and settle in at La Grand Fiesta Americana. This evening, gather for a welcome dinner and begin the journey into the ancient spirit of the Zapotec world.
Sacred Sites, Colonial Beauty & Cultural Treasures
Begin the day with a visit to the archaeological site of Zona Arqueológica San José El Mogote. Return to the city to explore the Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzmán and the Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Soledad before enjoying lunch at Casa Oaxaca el Restaurante. Later, visit the Museo de las Culturas de Oaxaca, then regroup for dinner at the Michelin-starred Los Danzantes.
Monte Albán & Atzompa
Spend a full day exploring the extraordinary ruins of Monte Albán, including the observatory, ball court, tombs, and more. Continue to the Zona Arqueológica de Atzompa before returning to the hotel. Dinner this evening will be at Origen.
Mitla & Hierve el Agua
Drive to Mitla to explore this remarkable archaeological site, along with the nearby Templo Católico de San Pablo Villa de Mitla. Enjoy lunch in the area before continuing to the breathtaking mineral springs of Hierve el Agua for a swim. Return to the hotel, followed by dinner at Asador Bacanora Oaxaca.
Yagul, Lambityeco & Mezcal Tasting
Head out to Yagul, an ancient archaeological site, followed by a visit to the Zona Arqueológica de Lambityeco. Later, enjoy a mezcal tour and tasting at Casa Silencio. Dinner this evening will be at Mexita, a casual Italian restaurant.
Artisan Traditions, Tule Tree & Temazcal Ceremony
Visit artisan weaving families in a small village and see the legendary Tule Tree. Later, take part in a traditional temazcal ceremony led by a local Indigenous shaman. Regroup in the evening for dinner at Criollo, featuring a beautiful tasting menu.
Departure
Depart Oaxaca with unforgettable memories of its ancient temples, sacred traditions, vibrant culture, and the enduring spirit of the Zapotecs.
