Step into the world of Outlander with the VIP Outlander Experience 2027, an all-inclusive luxury tour through the heart of Scotland created especially for devoted fans of the series. From July 5–15, 2027, guests will journey through sweeping Highland landscapes, historic castles, and beloved filming locations, including Doune Castle, Craigh na Dun, Midhope Castle, and Culloden Battlefield. Along the way, enjoy carefully curated experiences such as private whisky tastings, exceptional dining, and stays in elegant Scottish hotels and estates. Hosted by Hayley A. Ramsey, this immersive adventure brings together history, legend, and cinematic romance for the ultimate Outlander-inspired escape.
Day 1 – July 5
Meet at our hotel, Dalhousie Castle Hotel & Spa, a stunning 13th-century castle located just outside Edinburgh. Guests who arrive early may wish to relax with a spa treatment or take time to enjoy the peaceful castle grounds. This evening, we will gather for a formal welcome reception with cocktails and canapés, followed by a group dinner at The Kitchin as we begin our Scottish adventure together.
Day 2 – July 6
After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart at 10 AM for our first full day of touring. Our first stop will be Blackness Castle, featured in Outlander and also used in the film Outlaw King. From there, we will visit the iconic Kelpies in Falkirk before continuing to Linlithgow Palace, which served as Wentworth Prison in Outlander and is also known as the birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots. Lunch will be at Gigi’s Italian, and we will end the day with dinner back at Dalhousie.
Day 3 – July 7
We will depart Dalhousie Castle Hotel & Spa at 9:15 AM for another memorable day of Outlander locations and Scottish history. Our first stop will be Doune Castle, instantly recognizable to fans as Castle Leoch and also known for its appearance in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. We will then continue to Deanston Distillery for lunch, a whisky tasting, and a tour. The distillery appeared in Season 2, Episode 2 of Outlander, Not in Scotland Anymore, as the warehouse at Le Havre. Later, we will visit the beautiful Drummond Castle Gardens, which stood in for the gardens of Versailles in Season 2. We will then check into Dunkeld House Hotel, where members of the Outlander cast stayed while filming in the area, followed by dinner at the hotel.
Day 4 – July 8
We will head out around 10 AM for Tibbermore Kirk, the atmospheric church where Geillis and Claire stood trial for witchcraft in Season 1 of Outlander. Afterward, we will visit the Scottish fruit winery Cairn o’ Mohr for a tasting and included lunch. The afternoon and evening will be yours to enjoy at a leisurely pace. Relax at the spa, stroll the hotel grounds, or explore the charming town of Dunkeld. Dinner this evening is optional and on your own, giving you time to either enjoy the area with the group or unwind at the hotel.
Day 5 – July 9
After checking out at 9 AM, we will make our way to the real-life Craigh Na Dun filming location, an ancient Iron Age ringfort in Kinloch Rannoch. We will also stop at the Highland Folk Museum, which was used as a filming location in Season 1. Later, we will check into Culloden House, a historic mansion where Bonnie Prince Charlie once stayed. Dinner will be served at the hotel.
Day 6 – July 10
This morning, we will depart the hotel around 9:30 AM to visit the Culloden Battlefield Museum and walk the historic battlefield itself. From there, we will continue to nearby Clava Cairns, a remarkable ancient site with stone circles and burial cairns. In the evening, enjoy a special dinner at Culloden House with a special guest to be announced.
Day 7 – July 11
We will check out at 8:30 AM and begin our journey toward Aberdeenshire, stopping to pick up lunch along the way. Our featured visit today will be Castle Fraser, the ancestral home of Clan Fraser and what would have been Jamie Fraser’s real-life Lallybroch. We will then settle in for two nights at Maryculter House, a historic riverside retreat along the banks of the River Dee. Enjoy the charm of this timeless Scottish manor, followed by a delightful dinner at the hotel.
Day 8 – July 12
We will depart at 10 AM for a day filled with ancient sites, dramatic scenery, and local flavor. Our first stop will be Easter Aquhorthies Stone Circle before continuing south to the breathtaking Dunnottar Castle, one of Scotland’s most iconic and dramatic coastal fortresses. Later, we will enjoy a Seidear sparkling cider tasting with cider maker Christian Stolte. Dinner this evening will be at The Silver Darling, overlooking the harbor.
Day 9 – July 13
After checking out at 8:45 AM, we will stop for lunch at the Covenanter Hotel, known to Outlander fans as Mrs. Baird’s Bed and Breakfast from Season 1, located in the village of Falkland, which stood in for Inverness. We will then check into Prestonfield House, a luxurious 17th-century estate at the foot of Arthur’s Seat. In the evening, enjoy a tasting menu dinner at The Kitchin, Edinburgh’s renowned Michelin-starred restaurant.
Day 10 – July 14
We will leave the hotel at 9:30 AM and begin the day with a visit to Edinburgh Castle. From there, we will continue to Hopetoun House, the grand estate used as the Duke of Sandringham’s residence in Outlander and home to the Earls of Hopetoun. Our final stop of the day will be Midhope Castle, known to fans as Lallybroch and also owned by the Earls of Hopetoun, where we will enjoy a drinks reception. This evening, we will gather for our farewell dinner at Prestonfield House.
Day 11 – July 15
Departure day. We will say our goodbyes until our paths cross again. Safe travels!
