Embark on the VIP Outlander Experience 2026, an all-inclusive luxury tour of Scotland designed especially for devoted fans of Outlander. From June 11–22, 2026, journey through breathtaking landscapes and iconic filming locations—including Doune Castle, Craigh na Dun, Midhope Castle, and Culloden Battlefield. Enjoy curated experiences such as private distillery tastings, gourmet dining at The Kitchin, and stays in historic Scottish estates. Hosted by Hayley A. Your Daily Itinerary
Please Note: All tour itineraries are subject to change. Finalized itineraries will be announced closer to the departure date. We strive to ensure each experience is as enriching and seamless as possible, and adjustments may be made to enhance the overall journey.
Day 1 – June 11
Meet at our hotel, Dalhousie Castle Hotel & Spa, a magnificent 13th-century fortress just a short drive from Edinburgh. Those wishing to unwind can indulge in the spa’s relaxing treatments or explore the castle’s serene grounds. In the evening, join us for a formal welcome reception with cocktails and canapés, followed by a group dinner at The Kitchin to kick off our journey together.
Day 2 – June 12
Breakfast in the hotel. Leave at 10 AM. Our first stop will be Blackness Castle, used in Outlander, & the movie Outlaw King. We will stop to visit the iconic “Kelpies” in Falkirk before visiting Linlithgow Palace which served as “Wentworth Prison” in Outlander, but also where Mary Queen of Scots was born. Lunch at Gigi’s Italian. We will finish the day with dinner at Dalhousie.
Day 3 – June 13
We will be departing Dalmahoy Hotel at 9:15 AM. Doune Castle will be the first Outlander stop of the day. This is where “Castle Leoch” is filmed but was also used in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Then Deanston Distillery for lunch, a whisky tasting and tour. This was used in Outlander Season 2 episode 2 “Not in Scotland Anymore” and was the Warehouse at Le Havre. Visit Drummond Castle Gardens which was used as the gardens at Versailles in season 2. Check into Dunkeld House Hotel, which is the hotel that the actors stayed in whilst filming in the area. Dinner at hotel.
Day 4 – June 14
Head out around 10 AM to Tibbermore Kirk where Geillis and Claire were put on trial in Outlander season 1 for witchcraft. Visit the Scottish fruit winery “Cairn o’ Mohr” for a wee tasting and lunch (included). Back to hotel for a leisurely afternoon, evening. Enjoy the spa or a walk around the property or explore the town of Dunkeld. Optional: dinner on your own, giving you time to explore with the group or relax at the hotel.
Day 5 – June 15
Check out at 9 AM. Go to the real-life “Craigh Na Dun” film location — an ancient Iron Age ringfort in Kinloch Rannoch! Stop at the Highland Folk Village & Museum, used as a film location in Season 1. Check into Culloden House, a historic mansion where Bonnie Prince Charlie once stayed. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 7 – June 17
Check out at 8:30 AM and head towards Aberdeenshire. Stop to pick up lunch along the way. Visit Castle Fraser, home of Clan Fraser — what would have been Jamie Fraser’s real-life Lallybroch. Spend two nights at Maryculter House, a historic riverside retreat set along the banks of the River Dee. Enjoy the charm of this timeless Scottish manor and savor a delightful dinner at the hotel.
Day 9 – June 19
Check out 8:45 AM. Stop for lunch at the “Covenanter” AKA Mrs. Baird’s Bed and Breakfast from season 1 in the village of Falkland which stood in for “Inverness.” Check into Prestonfield House, a luxurious 17th-century estate at the foot of Arthur’s Seat. In the evening, enjoy a tasting menu dinner at The Kitchin, Edinburgh’s renowned Michelin-starred restaurant.
Day 10 – June 20
Leave the hotel at 9:30 AM stop first at Edinburgh Castle. Onto Hopetoun House then – the Duke of Sandringham’s residence in Outlander, the home of the Earls of Hopetoun. The last stop of the day will be at Midhope Castle, AKA Lallybroch, also owned by the Earls of Hopetoun where we will have a drinks reception. Farewell dinner at Prestonfield House.
