Terence Rae

From Presbyterian gravestone symbolism to clan burial islands and body-snatching lore that inspired gothic literature, Charlotte brings the darker side of history to life. Known from Men in Kilts, she will present:

Dr. Alexandra Dold

Literary Scholar & Historian

Dr. Alexandra Dold is a Germany-born scholar whose passion for literature and history led her to Scotland—and into the world of Outlander. She earned her PhD on Outlander at the University of the Highlands and Islands, examining the novels as public history through narrative techniques such as intertextuality and time-traveling chronologies.

Her research explores the global “Outlander Effect,” including its impact on heritage tourism and modern perceptions of Scotland’s past. She currently teaches Comparative Literature at the University of Glasgow.


Hailey Beaupre

The Sassenach Historian

Hailey Beaupre, known as The Sassenach Historian, is a Scottish historian, tour guide, and aspiring author based in Scotland. She leads immersive private tours that bring Scotland’s history, landscapes, and hidden stories vividly to life.

In addition to her work in the Outlander world, Hailey explores Scottish witchcraft and overlooked narratives. She will present a talk titled:

“Witchcraft in Scotland.”
