Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

On Day 1, we arrive at the Marine North Berwick Hotel, where we’ll kick off our adventure with a welcoming group dinner. This is a time to relax, connect, and soak in the atmosphere of our surroundings. Guests are encouraged to unwind and take advantage of the hotel’s spa amenities at their own pace, creating a refreshing start that prepares us for the incredible experiences awaiting in the days ahead.

Day 2: Preston Mill, National Museum of Flight, Lennoxlove House, Tantallon Castle

We’ll set off at 9:30 am for a captivating day, beginning with a tour of Preston Mill, recognized as the iconic Lallybroch mill. Next, we’ll dive into history at the National Museum of Flight. Midday brings us to Haddington for a lunch break in this quaint town, followed by an exploration of the stunning Lennoxlove House. Our afternoon includes a visit to the breathtaking Tantallon Castle, a grand 14th-century fortress built by the Douglas family, overlooking peaceful waters. We’ll wrap up the day with a delicious dinner at Zitto Italian Winebar & Trattoria.

Day 3: Gosford House, University of Glasgow, Hunterian Museum

On Day 3, we’ll check out of our hotel at 9 am and begin a day filled with historical and cultural gems. Our first stop is Gosford House, famously featured as Helwater in season 3. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a relaxed lunch paired with a refreshing Sassenach cocktail. In Glasgow, we’ll explore the scenic cloisters of the University of Glasgow, evoking the feel of Harvard in the series, followed by an engaging visit to the captivating exhibits at the Hunterian Museum. Our day concludes with a check-in at Hotel du Vin, where we’ll indulge in a Chef’s tasting menu paired with exquisite wine pairings. 

Day 4: Pollok Country Park, Glasgow Cathedral, St. Andrew’s Square, The Grove

On Day 4, we’ll venture to the renowned Pollok Country Park, a setting for numerous memorable Outlander scenes, including Jamie and Fergus’s journey to Le Havre in season 2 and the intense duel between Jamie and Black Jack Randall in France. After lunch, we’ll visit Glasgow Cathedral, famously depicted as the Parisian hospital where Claire volunteered and gave birth to Faith in season 2. A stop at St. Andrew’s Square captures the theatrical atmosphere of season 4, followed by a pint at ‘The Grove,’ a favorite spot of Claire, Brianna, and Roger. We’ll wrap up the day with dinner at the Ubiquitous Chip.

Day 5: Stirling Castle, King Arthur’s Round Table, Stirling Distillery, Killiecrankie, Craigh na Dun

On Day 5, we’ll check out and begin our journey with a visit to the stunning Stirling Castle, steeped in royal history and offering sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. Next, we’ll explore the legendary King Arthur’s Round Table before heading to Stirling Distillery for a flavorful gin-tasting experience. After lunch in Stirling, we’ll make our way to the historic Jacobite battlefield of Killiecrankie, the site of a pivotal clash in 1689. We’ll end the day with a stop at the mystical Craigh na Dun, the iconic stone circle that bridges the past and present within Outlander’s world. For the next two nights, we’ll settle into the charming Fife Arms Hotel, where we can relax in comfort and soak up the atmosphere of the Highlands.

Day 6: Balmoral Castle, Tomnaverie Stone Circle, Special Outlander Guest TBA!

We begin our day with a visit to the renowned Balmoral Castle, the beloved Scottish residence of the royal family and a place deeply cherished by Queen Elizabeth, who spent many memorable moments here until her passing in 2023. Next, we’ll journey to the mysterious Tomnaverie Stone Circle, a site reminiscent of Craigh Na Dun, offering a profound connection to ancient Scottish spirituality. To conclude this special day, we’ll enjoy a meet & greet, photoshoot, dinner, and a Q&A with a special Outlander guest (to be announced)!

Day 7: Highland Folk Museum, Ness Walk Hotel, Helen Gallogly Presentation

On Day 7, we’ll kick off our adventures at the Highland Folk Museum, immersing ourselves in the rich history and culture of the Highlands. As the day winds down, we’ll gather for an enlightening presentation by Outlander textile artist Helen Gallogly, who will share her experiences and insights from her work on the show. To cap off this memorable day, we’ll enjoy an intimate dinner in her company at the charming Ness Walk Hotel, where we can reflect on our experiences while savoring exquisite cuisine.

Day 8: Castle Leod, Beauly Priory, Culloden, Clava Cairns, Inverness

On Day 8, we begin our journey at Castle Leod, the ancestral home of Clan Mackenzie and the inspiration for Castle Leoch in Outlander. Continuing our exploration of Clan Fraser’s legacy, we’ll visit the ancient Beauly Priory, a 13th-century site that serves as the final resting place for many members of the Fraser clan. For those interested in delving deeper into Scotland’s rich history, an optional excursion to Culloden and Clava Cairns will be available. Guests can also take the opportunity to wander through the charming city of Inverness or relax with the hotel’s amenities. For dinner, we’ll enjoy a more casual meal in the bar at Ness Walk, where guests can savor a relaxed atmosphere while sharing stories from our adventures.

Day 9: Culross, Edinburgh, Signet Library, Dalhousie Castle

On Day 9, we’ll explore the charming town of Culross, which served as the backdrop for Cranesmuir in Outlander. Our journey continues to Edinburgh, where we’ll savor Afternoon Tea at the elegant Signet Library, a regal venue that was transformed into the Governor’s mansion in Jamaica during the third season of Outlander. We’ll make a brief stop at Bakehouse Close, the location of Jamie’s print shop, to revisit some of the series’ most memorable scenes. Dinner awaits us at The Kitchin Restaurant, featured in Men in Kilts, before we retire to the historic Dalhousie Castle. Fun fact: In season two’s “La Dame Blanche” episode, Jamie suggested naming their child after “Dalhousie.”

Day 10: Craigmillar Castle, Hopetoun House, Midhope Castle with Gillebride MacMillan, Samhuinn Fire Fest

On the final leg of our journey, Day 10 promises to be filled with cinematic and historical wonders. We’ll begin at Craigmillar Castle, which doubles as Ardsmuir Prison in Outlander. Our next stop will be Hopetoun House, the grand residence of the Duke of Sandringham. Finally, we’ll arrive at Midhope Castle, lovingly referred to as Lallybroch, where we’ll be treated to a performance by Gillebride MacMillan, the bard from Castle Leoch in season 1, as we enjoy ‘Colum’s Rhenish.’ As night falls, we’ll immerse ourselves in the ancient traditions of Samhain at the Samhuinn Fire Fest on Calton Hill. Our adventure will conclude with a farewell dinner at Dalhousie Castle, where we can reflect on the unforgettable moments shared throughout our Outlander-inspired journey!

Day 11: Depature

Day 11 marks our departure, as we bid farewell to Scotland and the unforgettable memories we’ve made together. After breakfast, we’ll begin our journeys home, taking with us the stories, friendships, and incredible experiences from our Outlander-inspired adventure. Safe travels, and until we meet again!
