The official hotel for attendees is the Fairmont St Andrews, and complimentary shuttle service will be provided to and from the hotel and the event venue throughout the gathering.

Richard Rankin

Richard Rankin is a Scottish actor best known for his role as Roger MacKenzie on the hit Starz series Outlander. A graduate of Langside College in Glasgow, Rankin has built a diverse career across television, film, and theatre, with notable performances in Burnistoun, The Replacement, and Shetland.

Terence Rae

Terence Rae is a Scottish actor who appears in the Outlander prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood as a young Arch Bug, offering fans a deeper look into the origins of one of the saga’s most complex characters. At the Gathering, she will share insights into the skills, symbolism, and history woven into her craft, offering a rare glimpse into the textiles that connect Scotland’s past with its present on screen.

Dr. Arran Johnston
Director of the Scottish Battlefields Trust
Step into Scotland’s dramatic past with Dr. Arran Johnston, Director of the Scottish Battlefields Trust and one of the nation’s foremost historians of Jacobite warfare. In his engaging talks—“The Battle of Prestonpans, in Fact and Fiction” and “The Military Leadership of Prince Charles Edward Stuart”—Dr. Johnston will bring pivotal moments of the 1745 Rising to life, blending meticulous research with captivating storytelling.

Dr. Alexandra Dold
Literary Scholar and Historian
Dr Alexandra Dold is a Germany-born scholar whose passion for literature and history led her to Scotland—and into the world of Outlander. She earned her PhD on Outlander at the University of the Highlands and Islands, examining the novels as public history through narrative techniques like intertextuality and time-traveling chronologies.
Her research explores the global “Outlander effect,” including its impact on heritage tourism and modern perceptions of Scotland’s past. Alexandra teaches Comparative Literature at the University of Glasgow and works as a historical consultant for historical fiction, including Philip Paris’s award-winning The Last Witch of Scotland.

Charlotte Golledge
Scottish historian
Charlotte Golledge is a Scottish historian based at the iconic Hopetoun Estate, specializing in Scotland’s rich and often overlooked history of death and burial traditions. Her work explores everything from Presbyterian gravestone iconography to remote Clan burial islands, as well as the darker stories of body-snatching that inspired gothic writers like Mary Shelley and Robert Louis Stevenson. Having worked in famous sites such as Greyfriars Kirkyard, she has authored multiple books and appeared on “Men in Kilts” as a trusted expert. Charlotte will be presenting two talks: “Death Is for the Living” and “Death in Scotland in the 18th Century.”

Hailey Beaupre
The Sassenach Historian
Hailey Beaupre, known as The Sassenach Historian, is a Scottish historian, tour guide, and aspiring author based in Scotland. She leads immersive private tours that bring Scotland’s history, culture, landscapes, and hidden stories vividly to life.
While well known for her work within the Outlander world, Hailey also explores Scottish witchcraft and overlooked historical narratives. She will present a talk titled Witchcraft in Scotland.
